１F ふしぎファーム Wonder Farm
かいこのふしぎ The Wonder of Silkworms
「まゆるん」が説明する映像を見ながら、シルクを生み出す「かいこ」について楽しく学べます。 Enjoy a video hosted by our museum’s mascot character, Mayurun, about the silkworms used to create silk.
飼育している「かいこ」を観察できます。View silkworms as they are being raised.
時期によっては、「かいこ」が「まゆ」を作っているようすを見ることができます。 If you’re lucky, you may even be able to see the silkworms in the midst of creating their cocoons.

The Silk-Making Process, From Silkworm to Finished Product
「かいこ」が作る「まゆ」から糸ができるまで、そして、織り、染めの様々な過程を展示しています。 This exhibit explores the process of silk production, from cocoon to thread, as well as the weaving, dyeing and other processes used to make finished products.

世界のシルクと民族衣装 Silk and Native Dress Worldwide
世界の民族衣装にはシルクが多く用いられています。 それぞれのもっているシルクの美しい特色が鑑賞できるよう展示しています。 Silk is used often in a wide variety of native dress around the world. This exhibit provides a look at the unique and beautiful characteristics of silk material worldwide.
日本の復元時代風俗衣装
Reproductions of Traditional Dress in Japan
古代から現代までのそれぞれの時代において、衣装がどのようなかたちで私たち祖先に愛され、 受け継がれてきたかを、時代考証のもとに復元して展示しています。 This exhibit features reproduction displays, based on historical evidence, that explore the forms of clothing used and passed down by Japanese people’s ancestors, covering clothing-related customs from ancient times to the present day.
着物 Kimono
江戸時代後期の小袖や重要無形文化財保持者（人間国宝）をはじめとした現代作家の着物などを 季節ごとに展示しています。 See kosode kimono from the late Edo Period (19C.) and modern-day kimono by contemporary artists including an artisan (living national treasure) certified as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
映像ライブラリー Video Library
蚕糸、日本の染織・染織作家、伝統工芸などの映像を揃えています。 Our collection features videos on silk thread, Japanese textile dyeing, textile dyers, traditional crafts and more.
